I just wanted to make a quick little post before beginning my workday since it has been a little while since I filled y'all in.
Life in Portland has been as fine as ever. I am getting more and more comfortable working at Lents Landing. With every passing workday I get more comfortable working with power tools and developing some general construction skills. Yesterday I got my first true experience working one on one with a Habitat volunteer. It was probably my favorite experience in working with Portland Habitat so far. There's something really awesome about pairing with someone else to tackle a big task, just the two of you. My volunteer, Norma, and I put down all of the baseboards in one of the houses among other tasks. We both felt pretty accomplished.
